Every summer, I setup two sessions where I schedule system updates and upgrades to prepare for the football season. These update/upgrade sessions are setup with one long session, where the heavy lifting gets done, and then a short follow-up session a few weeks later to tweak and finalize everything.
For 2023, these sessions will take place July 8th through July 21st and then again August 17th through August 20th.
I scheduled the longer of the two sessions in July during what is the absolute quietest 14 days of the year for sports. The only daily sports taking place during the July session would be tennis, soccer, and MLB (and MLB is off from July 10th through the 13th for the All-Star break). Of course there is also MMA, golf, auto racing and more, but most of that is not daily content. A full schedule of the major sports active each day for the July session can be found below.
What about August? Things do pickup in August as you will have tennis, MLB, major soccer leagues back, NFL preseason, etc. So, a fuller schedule at that time, but it is a much shorter period.
How will TSP content be affected during each session?
JULY SESSION (8th through 21st)
TSP Live: The Degenerate Club Report and any other TSP Live alerts will be operational as normal. However, alerts will likely be more succinct. The more succinct design is not “update related”, but rather because the daily sports schedule during this period in July will be smaller.
Twitter & Telegram: Content will be light, again because of the lighter schedule, but I expect to have some daily free content/commentary.
Websites: TSP.Live will operate as normal for subscribers. TheSharpPlays.com will likely have an article or two setup to be published to provide some content for this quiet period. However, as is usually the case during update weeks…the records tables, TSP Index and content logs WILL NOT be updated. All records and content occurring during this session (8th through 21st) will be updated in the logs/tables on July 22nd.
Messages: If you need paid content support (which means a payment issue, can’t login or access subscriber content, etc.) those messages will be addressed by the answering service within 1-3 hours during normal business hours. If you are messaging about anything else, thereby waiting on a reply from me, please expect reply delays of potentially 72 hours or more (Telegram/Twitter/email). I always reply to all legitimate messages eventually, but FYI…I will be working with the programmers directly, and as much as I would like to discuss why the NY Mets line went up 6 cents with you…I am going to dedicate my attention to the task of programming and learning the new systems. If anything major happens in the sports markets, I will update as normal.
The above contains nothing out of the ordinary for what goes on during these update sessions every year, but I just wanted to bring you up to speed, especially those who have never been a part of The Sharp Plays during one. I have been doing these updates/upgrades every summer for the past 5 years now and if I didn’t mention them, chances are you would not even notice. However, I just like to keep you up to speed should something occur.
AUGUST SESSION (17th through 20th)
TSP Live: Normal operations
Twitter & Telegram: It’s a much fuller schedule during this period, but I will likely be light with the public content as I spend time wrapping things up and learning any new systems with the programmers.
Websites: Same policy as July session…any content during this period will be logged with records updated on August 21st.
Messages: Same policy as July session
